Real Estate Broker Vernell Roberts is an industry veteran, who moved to South Florida from her native home of St. Thomas, USVI as a child and started her career in real estate in 2003. In addition to her years of experience as a Realtor and licensed real estate broker, she also holds a license as a title insurance agent, is a Fannie Mae approved mortgage underwriter, a Notary Public, and a former residential real estate appraiser. Her success comes from maintaining a proactive stance and staying on top of industry standards, which in turn has allowed her to survive both the highs and lows of the real estate industry while presiding over her real estate brokerage Horizon Real Estate Solutions.
CARIB was founded by Ms. Roberts after her native islands of St. Thomas, USVI and Dominica, West Indies were devastated by hurricanes from the 2017 season. She quickly joined one of the local non-profit associations to help gather resources to send to her family and other residents of the regions affected by the storms, but it was a very difficult process trying to assemble with such short notice. It quickly became obvious that there was a need for an organization to maintain a proactive stance in order to be responsive to matters like these, but also to provide ongoing assistance to the Caribbean as well as various other matters.
This alliance with her colleagues will enable the organization to provide assistance for future recovery efforts, provide scholarships to local students that share the Caribbean heritage, and to advocate and celebrate one another culturally.
